1. Most recent role bullets — highest weight 2. Professional summary — 3–5 sentences with 4–6 JD terms 3. Skills section — 20+ items mirroring JD vocabulary 4. Earlier roles — only if genuinely relevant

How to extract keywords from any JD
Paste the job description into a resume keyword checker. It should return:
- Matched keywords — already on your resume
- Missing keywords — gaps to address honestly
- Frequency guidance — usually 1–3 mentions per important term
Manually, highlight repeated nouns in the "Requirements" and "Responsibilities" sections — those are your targets.
Keyword stuffing penalties
Repeating "Python" eight times across bullets triggers saturation penalties on most 2026 ATS platforms. The fix: mention Python once with a strong bullet, then cover adjacent terms (Django, pandas, ETL) that the JD also lists.
If you do not have a skill, do not add it. Interviews will expose gaps faster than ATS will reward lies.
