Common questions
How does the salary analyzer work?+
You enter your job title, experience band, and city (plus optional current salary and skills). Our AI estimates the typical market range for that exact profile — shown as percentiles from p10 to p90 — along with demand level, market trend, and specific negotiation guidance. If you've saved a resume on ApplyVita, it calibrates the estimate to your actual seniority and skills.
How accurate are the salary ranges?+
They're informed estimates of typical market ranges, not survey results — we're honest about that. Real offers vary by company, team, and negotiation. Use the range as an anchor: it tells you whether an offer is low, fair, or strong for your profile, which is exactly what you need walking into a negotiation.
Does it work for Indian salaries?+
Yes — India is a first-class market. Ranges for Indian cities are shown in ₹ LPA (annual), covering Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and more. Global cities (US, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Singapore, Europe) are shown in USD.
Is the salary analyzer free?+
Yes — you get 3 full analyses free with no signup and no credit card. Creating a free account keeps your work saved and unlocks the rest of the toolkit; paid plans unlock unlimited analyses, so you can compare roles, cities, and competing offers side by side.
What are salary percentiles (p10, p50, p90)?+
Percentiles show how pay is distributed across a market. p50 (the median) is what a typical person with your profile earns; p25–p75 is the normal band; p90 is what the strongest negotiators and top companies pay. If your current salary is below p25, you have a strong case to negotiate.
Should I share my current salary?+
It's optional. If you do, we show exactly where you stand against the market — which percentile band you're in and the gap to the median — so you know whether to push, and by how much. We never share your inputs.
How do I use this in a negotiation?+
Anchor against the range, not your current salary. Every analysis includes a negotiation playbook plus a ready-to-say counter script using your actual numbers. Pair it with our role-by-role salary guides for the fuller picture.
