What is a good Naukri ATS score? The bands that get callbacks (2026)

80+ is where recruiter calls start. Here's how Naukri ranks you, what each score band means, and how far you are from the safe zone.

The short answer: 80 and above

On Naukri, recruiter callbacks reliably start when your resume scores 80 or above. Between 60 and 79 your resume parses fine but loses to better-matched candidates. Below 60 almost always means the parser couldn't read your resume properly — a formatting failure, not a career failure.

Most unoptimized Indian resumes score between 55 and 68. That's why the same person can apply to forty jobs and hear nothing: the resume never reaches a human.

Why Naukri ranks you before any recruiter looks

Every application on Naukri goes into a stack ranked by relevance. Recruiters work from the top down — a recruiter with 300 applicants rarely scrolls past the first fifty.

Three signals dominate your rank: keyword match (do your headline, key skills and bullets carry the exact terms the recruiter searched?), profile completeness (did the parser successfully extract your experience, education, skills?), and recency (was your profile updated in the last 30 days?).

Notice that two of the three live inside your resume text. That's the part you control completely.

The score bands, decoded

85–100 — recruiter-grade. You surface at the top of ranked stacks. Your job now is tailoring per JD to stay there.

80–84 — the safe band. Callbacks start here. Two or three more JD keywords usually push you into the top band.

60–79 — the invisible middle. Nothing is broken; you're just outcompeted. Fix weak bullets, quantify outcomes, and mirror the JD's exact skill terms.

Below 60 — parsing failure. Tables, two-column layouts, graphics or scanned PDFs have garbled your resume. Switch to a clean single-column format before touching a single word of content.

Naukri's own quality meter vs a real ATS score

Naukri's built-in resume quality meter mainly measures profile completeness — it rewards filling more fields. Useful, but it says nothing about whether your resume would survive a recruiter's keyword search or a company's Workday parser.

A real ATS score reads your actual resume the way screening software does: content and impact (35%), keyword match (25%), formatting compliance (25%), skills presentation (15%). Score 85 on that rubric and you're strong everywhere — Naukri, LinkedIn, and company career portals.
