Railway (RRB NTPC · Group D · ALP) Resume Format That Clears DV

Selection is exam-based — but your bio-file decides how smoothly verification, skill tests and joining go. Here's exactly what the Railway pipeline expects.

Where your resume actually matters in Railway recruitment

  • Document verification after CBT stages — bio-summary sheet on top of your file
  • Apprentice (RRC act-apprentice) applications — resume often required
  • Medical examination and joining at the allotted division

The Railway format rules

  1. 1.Apprentice routes: ITI/trade details front and centre — trade, institute, NCVT/SCVT, year, marks
  2. 2.Match every name/date/spelling to your Aadhaar + certificates (railway DV is unforgiving)
  3. 3.Mention physical standards/medical fitness category where relevant (ALP/technician: A1/B1 vision class)
  4. 4.Photo + personal details per govt convention; community certificate details if claiming reservation
  5. 5.One page; bilingual (Hindi) copy recommended for division offices

Railway resume — common questions

Is a resume needed for railway jobs?+

For CBT selection, no. It becomes important at document verification, for railway apprenticeships (where applications are shortlisted on trade + marks), and at division joining. A clean bio-summary consistent with your certificates prevents DV delays.

What should an ITI candidate's railway resume highlight?+

Trade, institute, NCVT/SCVT certification, year and marks — first. Then apprenticeship details with shed/division and attendance. Railway technical shortlisting for apprentices is effectively ranked on these fields.

Should railway biodata be in Hindi?+

Keep both. English is accepted everywhere, but division offices and some DV panels work in Hindi — carrying a Hindi copy of the same biodata avoids on-the-spot translation requests.
