The Forest Dept format rules

1. 1.The walking or endurance test is what makes this family different from police recruitment. It is commonly around 25 km in 4 hours for men and 14–16 km in 4 hours for women — but the distance is fixed per state, so read your own notification rather than a national figure.
2. 2.Your bio-file carries physical data like a police file: height, chest (expanded/unexpanded where tested), weight and medical fitness category, with the ST/hill-area relaxations your state allows noted against them.
3. 3.For Forester and Range Officer posts the subject stack is a hard eligibility gate — the degree must carry the science or forestry subjects the notification names (typically from botany, zoology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, geology, statistics, forestry, agriculture or engineering). List subjects, not just the degree name.
4. 4.State the district and terrain you know. Forest postings are local by nature, and knowledge of the local language and the district's forest divisions is treated as substantive, not decorative.
5. 5.Character certificate and a clean antecedent record are required; forest recruitment runs police verification, so annotate every gap honestly the way you would for a police application.
6. 6.Field-relevant extras genuinely count here and are rarely written down: NCC, trekking or mountaineering courses, first aid, snake-handling or wildlife-rescue volunteering, driving licence, and any nursery or plantation work.
